RealEstatesCaribbean is operated by Symblings Digital Marketing, which is responsible for the personal data processed through this website. For any question about your data, write to contact@realestatescaribbean.com.
We use personal data only to:
We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not pass your messages on to brokers.
When you send a message through the contact form, we receive the name, e-mail address and message you enter. The form also records the date and time, the page you sent it from, your IP address and your browser details. The message is e-mailed to contact@realestatescaribbean.com and a copy is stored in the website’s admin area. If you e-mail us directly, we receive your e-mail address and what you write.
We use this only to reply to you and, if you report an error in a listing, to check it against the broker’s website and correct it. We keep messages for as long as we need them to handle your question, and then delete them.
Like any website, the server that hosts this site records technical data about each request: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested (including any search terms and filters in the address), the page you came from and your browser details. We need this to keep the site running and secure. The hosting control panel also turns these logs into summary statistics for us, such as the number of visits per page.
The server is located in the Netherlands. The logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or other tracking tools, and it does not set cookies for visitors. The only thing it stores in your browser is a technical note on whether your browser can display emoji; it is kept in session storage and removed when you close the tab. People who log in to manage the site receive WordPress login cookies; this does not apply to visitors.
The services from other companies listed below may store information in your browser under their own policies.
Some parts of the pages load directly from other companies’ servers. Your browser then connects to those servers, which receive your IP address and browser details, as with any website you visit. Each company processes that data under its own privacy policy.
Google and Cloudflare are based in the United States and the OpenStreetMap Foundation in the United Kingdom, so these connections can involve a transfer of data outside Curaçao and the European Union.
The “View at …” button on a listing opens that listing on the broker’s own website. From that moment the broker’s privacy policy applies. The broker’s website can see that you came from RealEstatesCaribbean; we do not send the broker any other information about you.
We handle personal data in line with the data protection law of Curaçao (Landsverordening bescherming persoonsgegevens) and, for visitors from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We process the details in your message because you ask us to reply. Server logs and the services listed above are based on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.
You can ask us which personal data we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Send your request to contact@realestatescaribbean.com. We reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can file a complaint with the College Bescherming Persoonsgegevens, the data protection authority of Curaçao. Visitors from the European Union can also complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands or to the data protection authority in their own country.
We update this page when the way the site uses data changes. The date below shows the current version.
