Bonaire is a special municipality of the Netherlands in the southern Caribbean, and the US dollar has been its legal tender since 1 January 2011. Prices on RealEstatesCaribbean are therefore shown in US dollars, as the brokers publish them.

Homes are concentrated in a few areas. Around Kralendijk, on the west coast, you find neighbourhoods such as Hato, Santa Barbara and Sabadeco. In the south and east, the residential areas around Belnem, Sorobon and Lac Bay lie close to the lagoon. Rincon is the inland settlement in the north. Each home is filed under one neighbourhood, and the broker’s own name for the area is shown on the listing.
